From the first time you catch a nice lobster to the one that got away spearfishing has a lot to offer. To buy a fish in the supermarket that has been pair trawled with no regard for the by-catch or the sea bed is not the same as standing around a nice bbq with your friends telling them how you were sitting in the kelp thinking about nothing much when out of the gloom came the biggest bass you had ever seen, your heart missed a beat, you were instantly ready with all your senses on overload..The fish swam towards you but saw you and turned to flee just as it came into range..Your lungs were burning, you had a split second to take the shot and make a clean kill.....

A course at the PSA will give you the confidence and knowledge to be able to hunt for fish and have a basic understanding of the factors that directly affect you and your prey. On the course you will cover the basics of a good quiet duck dive, the basics of freediving/Hunting and the physics that affect you. A little bit of rescue and first aid is also included for piece of mind.

Also covered are Chart work, tides, and identifying the dangers that your dive site has and minimising them,Gear set up, equipment set up, diving safely with others, the fish you cant shoot, not to steal from lobster pots and hopefully dealing with speared fish!

All the basics to make you a safe spearo are covered but as with any course the more you ask the more you learn!  To book a course just follow the link to the shop, go to the items section beneath the picture of the beach, choose your month and then your weekend! Simple.

Price includes one night's accommodation at the local dive bunk house, insurance, lunch on both days and use of all our Beuchat guns and kit.

Its starting to be fishy so book now to avoid disappointment and another year of only burgers on the BBQ!!
